Roth, Leon
(1896-1963)
   English philosopher. He was a lecturer in philosophy at Manchester University from 1923 to 1927. He settled in Palestine and became professor of philosophy at the Hebrew University, rector of the university, and dean of the faculty of humanities. He returned to England in 1951. He wrote philosophical studies, translated philosophical classics into Hebrew, and published a study of the Jewish religion (Judaism: A Portrait).
